The Fireside Design Center incorporates a wide range of materials to accomplish the design objectives of each custom fireplace project. Non-combustible cementitious composites of gypsum cement and concrete are cast in molds to make possible designs of unlimited shape, style, size, color and texture. The use of fireplace facing materials such as ceramic and porcelain tiles, natural stone tiles and ledger stone, can be bonded to an existing brick fireplace, or to a site-built framed sub-structure, to create an aesthetically pleasing and cost effective installation. The addition of a complimenting wood mantel can add color, texture and "warmth", and provides a surface for the display of decorative accents. Mantels and mantel shelves made of non-combustible materials such as glass, stainless steel and other metals, can protect a TV mounted above the fireplace from excessive heat, and also be an effective design component.
In addition to the fireplace styles that are shown here, you may find other examples online or in publications that are reflective of your vision. Assemble those along with photos and dimensions of your fireplace and email to: FiresideDesignOnline@gmail.com. After it is reviewed, a design specialist will call to discuss your fireplace remodel project and the design options that are available to you.
